SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Technician to join the Electrical Engineering team here at Firefly. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering efforts by providing technical assistance and expertise in the development, testing, and maintenance of systems and components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist engineers in the design, development, and testing of aerospace components and systems.
  2. Conduct hands-on assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and electronic aerospace systems.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of aerospace equipment and tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  4. Collaborate with engineers to analyze test data, identify issues, and propose solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
  5. Support prototype fabrication and testing activities, including machining, welding, and 3D printing.
  6. Follow established procedures and safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  7. Document procedures, test results, and equipment specifications to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  8. Assist in the procurement of materials and components necessary for engineering projects, including sourcing, ordering, and inventory management.
  9. Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and interns to foster skill development and knowledge sharing.
  10. Stay informed about advancements in aerospace technology and industry trends to contribute innovative ideas and solutions to ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working as a technician in the aerospace industry, preferably in a research and development or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with precision tools, machining equipment, and electronic testing instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and data analysis tools is desirable.
  • Understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and aerospace regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA) is a plus
