CNC Operator - Tube Bending

SUMMARY

Join our dynamic team of highly skilled machinist with a combined experience of over 300 years of machining who will mentor you to manufacture cutting edge components with the latest tools available in the industry. Learn to manufacture complex geometry rocket engine components made from high temp alloys and be trained on sophisticated machining process’s as well as cutting edge machinery. We pride ourselves on cross training all machinist on every piece of machinery we have.

Location for this role is at our Manufacturing site in Briggs, TX, 25 minutes north of Cedar Park.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine they are operating.
  • Operates tube bending equipment to perform various bending operations.
  • Perform bending operations on varies tube types, materials, and diameters.
  • Operates various other equipment including overhead crane, forklift, grinder, end forming equipment, washing equipment, digital inclinometers, levels, dividers, calipers, tape measures, OD tapes, and cutting equipment.
  • Calculate rise and degree of angle to ensure tubes are cut at the correct length.
  • Demonstrated experience with calipers, micrometers, micro height gauges, and blueprint readings. Ability to edit and alter tool offsets.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and prints.
  • Working knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principles.
  • Able to understand and maintain the bending equipment (when applicable).
  • Understanding of cutting tools (and offset geometry).
  • Ability to operate inspection equipment to validate the geometry of the tube is within tolerance.
  • Assists in set up and operation of all standard & specialized machines. · Actively participates in lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. Applies lean concepts and tools in work areas.
  • Assists in training on machine for other team members

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Minimum of one-year relevant experience.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, micrometer, and dial calipers.
  • A demonstrated team player.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds although the most frequent lift is 25 lbs.
  • Ability to create and correct tube bending programs to meet specified tolerances.
  • Ability to work in both imperial and metric units.
  • Maintains a clean working environment.

Desired:

  • 3+ years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • 3D Scanner or White light box inspection experience.
  • Experience operating and programming tubes for Draw, Push, and Variable radius bending.
  • Working understanding of how to track time and work in an ERP system.
  • Working knowledge of VGP3D or similar programming software.
