ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE
As an end-to-end space transportation company, Firefly Aerospace is on a mission to enable our world to launch, land, and operate in space – anywhere, anytime. Our launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles provide government and commercial customers with full mission services from low Earth orbit to the surface of the Moon and beyond. Headquartered in north Austin, Texas, Firefly is looking for passionate, hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space.
SUMMARY
Firefly is looking for an experienced Test Engineer to manage one of our horizontal engine test stands. In this role you will help design, implement, and operate advanced test infrastructure for both existing and experimental engine designs.
Our Team has built the Firefly test site from the ground up to be a world class rocket testing facility. Capabilities include testing every part of the rocket from individual engines, valves and structures, to full scale mission duty cycle stage testing. As Firefly grows, additional test stands are being designed to not only support flight acceptance testing, but also the continued development of novel components and entirely new vehicles.
As a Responsible Engineer of an engine test stand at Firefly Aerospace, you will ensure your systems are healthy and ready for use in both engine component and full scale engine testing. You will work closely with design engineers to validate system performance and reliability, identifying improvements and required maintenance, ensuring work proceeds in a timely manner. While test operations are active you will be responsible for monitoring the health and functionality of the Ground Support Equipment (GSE), including rapid diagnostic of malfunctioning equipment. Additionally, you will work with design engineers, technicians, and vendors to drive system upgrades and improve system functionality, operations, and automation.
This role is located north of Cedar Park, in Briggs, TX.
