SUMMARY

Firefly Facility Technicians within the launch group will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of launch site building and support systems. You will work as part of a small team requiring minimal supervision, so a self-starter is a must!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs routine inspections and repairs of exterior/interior facilities to include roofs, ceilings, walls, floors and fixtures.
  • Performs carpentry and painting repairs; performs plumbing and minor electrical repairs; light concrete placement and repair; HVAC maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to include HVAC, generators, cranes, corrosion control, grounding systems and lightning protection systems.
  • Maintains outdoor grounds and parking lots to be clean and free of debris.
  • Coordinates and works with other vendors or contractors on larger multi-trade projects.
  • Performs assembly and/or moving of furniture, racks, or other site equipment.
  • Creates and/or completes maintenance work tickets providing the actions and procedures carried out to complete tasks.
  • Provides general support during launch campaigns and launch day efforts.
  • Responds to emergency situations during and after hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 3+ years of facility or maintenance experience.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate 50 pounds.
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team.
  • Possess a valid “Real ID” driver’s license, and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass Space Force background checks for Vandenberg SFB, CA

Desired

  • 5+ years experience as a handy-person or in a construction trade.
  • Detailed knowledge in one or more of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration, concrete, or framing.
  • Knowledge in Atlassian Software such as Confluence, Jira and Bitbucket

Compensation: $22.00-27.00/hour
