SUMMARY

The Firefly Quality Inspector (NDT) is responsible for the performing inspection and acceptance of in-process and completed flight, qualification, test, and support hardware and software, and related detailed components. This position is located at our Production and Test facility north of Cedar Park, in Briggs, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aid in First Article Inspection of parts and assemblies to Drawing and Specification as per AS9102
  • Perform inspection & acceptance of detail parts with flexibility of working with several different product lines such as weldments and component structures.
  • Aid in the development of inspection plans and quality control points within the manufacturing process
  • Aid in the creation of standard work instructions for detail inspections
  • Evaluate composite structures and products for acceptance criteria and initiate nonconformance process where required.
  • Perform work safely with heavy parts using a variety of inspection tools.
  • Apply 5S workplace organization & follow the Lean initiatives.
  • Perform training on inspection techniques and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • College Diploma, or equivalent, in a related technical discipline and 1-2 years inspection experience OR High School Diploma minimum 3 years of hands-on technical experience with production, operations, or quality inspections.
  • Familiarity with VT (Visual Examination), PT (Penetrant Inspection), MP (Magnetic Particle Inspection), UT (Ultrasonic Inspection), or RT (X-Ray/Radiographic Inspection)Experience with standards and/or equivalent quality, military, or government standards in the Aerospace industry
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and adhere to engineering drawings, specifications, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and related quality control documentation and standards.
  • Proficient in using standard inspection gauges and dimensional measurement techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
  • Excellent organization skills. Willingness to work with a team, share expertise, and follow instructions to accomplish established goals.

Desired

  • College Diploma, or equivalent, in a related technical discipline and 3-5 years inspection experience specifically with NDT (Level 2 or 3 certification)ASQ CQT
  • Strong experience with VT (Visual Examination), PT (Penetrant Inspection), MP (Magnetic Particle Inspection), UT (Ultrasonic Inspection), or RT (X-Ray/Radiographic Inspection)
  • Familiarity with New space start-up environments
  • Familiarity with AS9100
