As an end-to-end responsive space company, Firefly Aerospace is on a mission to enable our world to launch, land, and operate in space – anywhere, anytime. Our small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles allow us to service the entire lifecycle of government and commercial missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. We utilize carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across our vehicles to iterate quickly, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost.
The Avionics Planner is the critical link between our electronic production area, test facilities, and final integration sites, ensuring that wire harnesses, batteries, and avionics boxes move efficiently through manufacturing, testing, and assembly to meet program schedules and integration needs. This role requires constant coordination with Manufacturing, Test, and Integration teams to align production output with program milestones and ensure that all avionics components are built, tested, and delivered on time. The Avionics Planner tracks part shortages, production flow, manages work-in-progress data, and identifies bottlenecks that could impact test schedules or integration readiness.
By closely monitoring capacity and production constraints, they help prevent delays and proactively drive solutions to keep avionics manufacturing on track. In addition to managing production data and reporting, they collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to optimize workflows, reduce inefficiencies, and improve throughput. Every avionics component we produce undergoes rigorous testing at our facilities before moving to final integration, where it is installed onto our launch vehicles. The Avionics Planner ensures that this process runs smoothly and predictably, making them essential to the success of our flight hardware production and mission timelines.
Firefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees, including generous health, dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles, parental leave, educational reimbursement, short term disability, pet Insurance, and flexible PTO options.
