Integration Engineer III

Department: Vehicle Integration
Location: Bertram, TX

SUMMARY

As an Integration Engineer III, you will play a critical role in the integration of launch vehicles, ensuring seamless assembly, testing, and operation. You will work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and test teams to drive integration processes from development through flight. Your expertise will be essential in solving complex integration challenges, improving efficiency, and ensuring mission success. This role is located in Briggs, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead vehicle integration activities, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and propulsion system integration.
  • Develop and execute detailed integration plans, procedures, and timelines for vehicle assembly and testing.
  • Collaborate with design, analysis, and manufacturing teams to ensure hardware is optimized for integration and operability.
  • Provide hands-on support for vehicle integration, working with technicians and engineers on the shop floor.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and problem resolution of integration issues to maintain project timelines.
  • Define and implement best practices for system integration, testing, and verification.
  • Support development and execution of environmental and functional tests on integrated aerospace vehicles.
  • Document integration procedures, lessons learned, and process improvements to enhance future builds.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace vehicle integration or related engineering fields.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems integration for aerospace applications.
  • Experience with system-level testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) and engineering tools for integration analysis.
  • Hands-on experience working with aerospace hardware and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on, high-energy environment, including cleanroom and manufacturing areas.
  • Willingness to support off-shift work, extended hours, or travel as required for integration and testing.

Desired

  • Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft integration.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NASA, FAA, DoD, AS9100).
  • Experience with design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Knowledge of propulsion system integration and fluid system handling.
  • Experience with PLM and ERP tools for integration tracking and documentation.
