Equipment Maintenance Technician II (2nd Shift)

SUMMARY

The 2nd Shift Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting a variety of electromechanical production equipment. This position is essential for ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and reliably, contributing to the overall productivity of the facility. We are looking for a technician who can field stakeholder inquiries and concerns and meet them with timely and quality resolutions. The Technician will perform repairs and maintenance as needed. They will have the support of our internal facilities department and contractors. The 2nd Shift Equipment Maintenance Technician will serve as a first responder to end users/steak holder needs and assess how best to handle them. The 2nd Shift Equipment Maintenance Technician will assist the 2nd Shift Facilities Technician as needed for emergency facility’s needs, facilities PM support, HVAC support, and electrical support as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, inspections, use of consumables, and ensure maintenance is completed on a regularly scheduled basis to maximize uptime of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance to drive continuous improvements.
  • Responding to equipment issues, assessing problems, and taking the appropriate action while communicating to all parties.
  • Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying components and sub-systems.
  • Ensure that maintenance interventions are compliant with environmental, safety, quality, and manufacturer’s guidelines. If necessary, take corrective actions and/or escalate compliance issues.
  • Minimal disturbances of production processes and support for improvement opportunities regarding installations and equipment.
  • Oversee the performance and condition of machinery and the quality of spare parts and of work executed by third parties.
  • Complete computer work order documentation for complete work history and parts inventory tracking.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by documenting and correcting potential safety issues concerning assembly and material-handling equipment or the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Minimum of five (5) years in equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, and/or operations support. Prior experience in equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment sub-systems such as pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and emergency protection systems.
  • General understanding of PLC’s and automation control sub-systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.
  • Familiarization with computer generated preventive maintenance worksheets to maintain production equipment.
  • Ability to handle emergencies with limited supervision, make decisions, resolve issues, and recognize when to escalate.
  • Ability to operate support equipment (forklift, scissor lift, etc.) and hand/power tools necessary for maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by documenting and correcting potential safety issues with equipment or the facility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with co-workers, vendors, and people with various professional backgrounds.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, climb and carry ladders.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and do repetitive actions with your hands for long periods of time.

Desired

  • Experience with production support equipment such as CNC mills/lathes, autoclaves, down flow booths, etc.
  • Experience with working CMMS. (Blue Mountain, Maximo, etc.)
  • Military experience a plus.
