Composite Technician II

SUMMARY

Composite Technician II is an intermediate-level role responsible for independently fabricating aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs.

This role supports the manufacture of primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration. Technicians at this level demonstrate strong technical skill and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Location: Briggs, TX (north of Cedar Park)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cut and kit composite materials to tight tolerances
  • Perform bonding operations including surface prep and adhesive application
  • Execute hand lamination of carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and core materials
  • Perform full vacuum bag cure cycles including debulking and oven monitoring
  • Cure materials per manufacturer specifications
  • Identify scarf back plies (scarfing) as required
  • Interpret composite layup drawings and manufacturing instructions
  • Ensure material traceability in compliance with AS9100
  • Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives
  • Maintain shop organization and PPE compliance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of composite manufacturing experience
  • Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to independently execute composite builds
  • Proficient use of pneumatic tools, hand tools, and precision measurement instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret composite layup and assembly prints
  • Experience working with material data sheets
